Book Review: NIGHTLIGHT

Title: Nightlight
Author: The Harvard Lampoon
Rating:
Good if...you loved or hated Twilight. This book is sure to make anyone laugh.

Summary (Amazon):
About three things I was absolutely certain. First, Edwart was most likely my soul mate, maybe. Second, there was a vampire part of him–which I assumed was wildly out of his control–that wanted me dead. And third, I unconditionally, irrevocably, impenetrably, heterogeneously, gynecologically, and disreputably wished he had kissed me.
And thus Belle Goose falls in love with the mysterious and sparkly Edwart Mullen in the Harvard Lampoon’s hilarious send-up of Twilight. Pale and klutzy, Belle arrives in Switchblade, Oregon looking for adventure, or at least an undead classmate. She soon discovers Edwart, a super-hot computer nerd with zero interest in girls. After witnessing a number of strange events–Edwart leaves his tater tots untouched at lunch! Edwart saves her from a flying snowball!–Belle has a dramatic revelation: Edwart is a vampire. But how can she convince Edwart to bite her and transform her into his eternal bride, especially when he seems to find girls so repulsive?Complete with romance, danger, insufficient parental guardianship, creepy stalker-like behavior, and a vampire prom.

My Thoughts...
I first saw this book on another reviews site and skipped right over it. But when I saw it today in Target, I just had to have it. Then when I got home, I read it all the way through in one sitting. It was short--154 pages--but hilarious. Belle was great. She imaged every boy to be in love with her, including the mysterious Edwart. And Edwart was even better--a super nerd. I laughed so hard when he showed up to save Belle in end with his "Team Jacob" shirt. Anyway. This book is what you'd expect--hilarious but stupid. The jokes got a little old after the first couple chapters but it was entertaining and I defiantly recommend it.

Both Sarah and Adriana---I'd recommend getting it from the Library if you can. I mean I read it in about 2-3 hours. And it cost like 11$.

I nearly bought this book this week, simply because I'm so desperately over Twilight (truly, the mania sickens me), but I wasn't sure whether it would be good. Perhaps I'll get it from the library because it sounds really funny :)

Wow, this book looks hilarious! Thanks for stopping by my blog! In response to your question about The Maze Runner, no, it's not very much like The Hunger Games. There are a few elements, such as the suspicion that The Creators are watching them, but everything else is completely original. I think that it's definitely worth reading if you get the chance.

Nightlight is sitting on my bookshelf right now! I got it for Christmas! I've got too many other new books and work and night classes 3 days a week to pick it up yet, but if I've got a couple hours to kill, I will get to it!! :-)

I look forward to checking out your blog!

This does look funny...I'm not a huge fan of Twilight so I think I would love it for its parody!
