Cover Revealed: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Scholastic just revealed the cover and title for Hunger Games Book #3. You can check out all the details on their blog site (Scholastic's Blog)

I am very excited! This is my most anticipated book for 2010. It comes out August 24th. If you haven't read the first two yet I would strongly advise doing so. It truly is an unforgettable series. I will be getting and reading this the day it comes out.
Questions:
1. I'm Team Peeta all the way, but what are you? Team Peeta or Team Gale?
2. Does anyone know details about the movie? Is there even a movie?
3. Speculation? Do you think this series is destined to be the next Harry Potter/Twilight? Why/why not?

Beautiful cover! I love the fact that they kept the bird in it. And that it's spreading its wings representing freedom is a really nice touch.
Can't wait until it comes out!!!

I love the cover!
I can't decide between Peeta or Gale since they both have great qualities. I really hope there isn't a movie and doesn't get over hyped liked Twilight did.

That cover is beautiful, so exciting!! Team Peeta definetly. There's a pretty decent fan site mockingjay.net that says there is going to be a movie and Suzanne Collins will be the screenwriter, but that's all I know. I'm a new follower of your blog, a writer and an artist. Love your blog, come visit mine sometime crystalcookart.blogspot.com :)

Hi Sarah, I am a new follower, also unpublished but working on it. :)

Thank you for posting this! I can't wait for the third book. I devoured the other two.

I'm Team Peeta, too. :) I don't know anything about the movie, I've wondered that myself, not sure how they would handle so much children murdering children... that could be very tricky...

Is this supposed to be a longer series? I thought it was a trilogy. Yay if there are more!

I just bought the first two, so I'm on no one's team yet. Love the new cover.

Btw, I given you the Happy Award since your blog makes me happy.

Have a great weekend!

So sad this is only a trilogy, but I can't wait to see how it will end. I'm team Gale, but I believe Peeta will end up with Katniss.

I am so sad to find out that Mockingjay is the last book!! I really want to know how it will end. I'm hopping Katniss will love Gale. Peeta's.... alright but he kinda reminds me of pita bread. lol.
Go Gale!

The book cover is very far impressive. The hunger Games is one of the best books I have read so far. I'm disappointed to reading the end of the page I was over obsessed with this book. I love it. I Can not wait to get the Mockingjay. Ugh I need to reread the book again. I'm so touched with this book.

I'm also team Peeta, but Gale is pretty cool too. I hope it doesn't become Twilight since those books are fluff candy and the movies are not great at all.

#1) Team Peeta or Team Gale? Its an impossible decision because she would have more love than most people experience in a lifetime with either. I'm gonna say, whichever lives through book #3.
#2) I've heard there will be a movie produced by Lionsgate but I don't know how true that is.
#3)I think if the movie is done right, it will be as good as Twilight. I hate Harry Potter so I can compare the two. Like Twilight, The Hunger Games appeals to a large group of ages and boys and girls alike. There is a little of everything: romance, adventure, mystery, action, danger, etc. The books are amazing and I'm hoping any movie will do it justice.

I'm team Peeta. All the way. There is absolutely no competition in my mind. I think that the fact that "The Hunger Games" ISN'T the next "Twilight" should be taken as a huge compliment to Suzanne Collins.

I am so excited for this book, and the cover looks great!
I am sooooo team Peeta, its not even funny. I am also, kind of anti-Gale. I think that if enough people catch on to this book before the next one is released, then yes. I am a part of the huge Harry Potter fandom, and that is how I was introduced to this book. So I know that this book is already in the hands of people who can make that happen, so I believe it is very possible. And I wouldn't mind that....

If you guys liked "The Hunger Games" I recommend "The Maze Runner". I loved it, and it reminded me so much of "The Hunger Games"!

Agreed. "The Maze Runner" is AMAZING. As for what "team" I'm on... really?? Do we have to play that card again? It doesn't matter if I'm team Peeta or team Gale (just like it doesn't matter if I'm team Jacob or team Edward), this isn't reality TV. The outcome isn't going to change if more people cheer one way or another. Katniss isn't in love with Peeta. If she ended up with him, it would be because she was forced and the Capitol forcing people to do certain things is the whole point of her revolution. I'm a bigger fan of Peeta as a character (because he is more loyal to Katniss than Gale is) but lets be real. Peeta isn't the one or he'd already have her.

I love to pick teams so yes! I will always be playing that card
