Book Review: PERFECT CHEMISTRY

Title: Perfect Chemistry
Author: Simone Elkeles
Rating:
Good if...you want the ultimate "good girl falls for bad boy" story

Summary (Amazon):
When Brittany Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of senior year, she has no clue that her carefully created “perfect” life is about to unravel before her eyes. She’s forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, and he is about to threaten everything she's worked so hard for—her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend, and the secret that her home life is anything but perfect. Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But soon Alex realizes Brittany is a real person with real problems, and suddenly the bet he made in arrogance turns into something much more.

What you've got to know...
Bottom line: THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING! For the last 8 hours I haven't moved! I couldn't tear myself away. What I loved: 1. It was a duel narrative, switching between Alex and Brittany's POV. And unlike other dual narrative's I've read, I didn't prefer one over the other. I loved them both. And they were both so different. I can't believe the same author wrote both. 2. I read every word. I always skim through books with too much detail or boring dialogue. I hung on every word on every page. 3. The story line made sense and the characters felt real. 4. This book was steamy. Yes. I just said steamy. As sexy as a romance novel but more awesome because it was about teenagers and the whole first love thing.

LOVED IT! LOVED IT!! LOVED IT!!! 5/5 all the way.

Just starting to explore the reading/reviewing/writing blogging world. Have a middle schooler. Always looking for good books for her. "Perfect Chemistry" sounds like a good one! Have reviewed some YA books and reviewed them at my new blog

I will be following your blog Sarah. Perhaps I will write one day. Always have had it in my mind.

Carol-- Yikes! This is so not middle school level. If it were a movie it would be rated R.

LOVED this book! But I could've done without the epilogue. How did you feel about it? It was such a sweet sweet ending, and then the 23 years later part seemed a little cheesy. But man, I couldn't put it down. :)
