In My Mailbox #16

This is "In my mailbox" a meme run by Kristi at The Story Siren. Here's what I got from the Library this week...

Skinned by Robin Wasserman
Lia Kahn was perfect: rich, beautiful, popular -- until the accident that nearly killed her. Now she has been downloaded into a new body that only looks human. Lia will never feel pain again, she will never age, and she can't ever truly die. But she is also rejected by her friends, betrayed by her boyfriend, and alienated from her old life.  Forced to the fringes of society, Lia joins others like her. But they are looked at as freaks. They are hated...and feared. They are everything but human, and according to most people, this is the ultimate crime -- for which they must pay the ultimate price.

I also checked out the sequels to this novel: CRASHED and WIRED.  And since I'm huge fan of the UGLIES series by Scott Westerfeld, I'm pretty excited to get started on this one.

I also got...
Birthmarked by Caragh M. O'Brien
IN THE ENCLAVE, YOUR SCARS SET YOU APART, and the newly born will change the future.  Sixteen-year-old Gaia Stone and her mother faithfully deliver their quota of three infants every month. But when Gaia’s mother is brutally taken away by the very people she serves, Gaia must question whether the Enclave deserves such loyalty. A stunning adventure brought to life by a memorable heroine, this dystopian debut will have readers racing all the way to the dramatic finish.

Mostly I just thought the cover on this one was pretty.  I typically shy away from Dystopian novels.

Anyone read either of these?  Can you tell me if they're good or not?  I do also plan on buying and reading MOCKINGJAY this week.  (YAY)

I don't know why, but the girl on Skinned scares me a little...

Anyway, great books this week!

Honestly, these blogs are a sensory overload! Pictures! Words! Thoughts assembled in a coherent order! The covers of those books makes me want to self-harm. Honestly, where are all the good artists???

M.J.--if you feel that strongly then don't read my blog!

Those are both wish list items. I almost bought Skinned this weekend, but then I got sidetracked.
