Book Review: DIE FOR ME

Title: DIE FOR ME
Author: Amy Plum
Publication Date: 05/10/2011
My Rating: 5/5-- Incredible! Loved it!
Plot in One Word: Zombies?
Good if...you want a whole new breed of supernatural
In the City of Lights, two star-crossed lovers battle a fate that is destined to tear them apart again and again for eternity.  When Kate Mercier's parents die in a tragic car accident, she leaves her life--and memories--behind to live with her grandparents in Paris. For Kate, the only way to survive her pain is escaping into the world of books and Parisian art. Until she meets Vincent.  Mysterious, charming, and devastatingly handsome, Vincent threatens to melt the ice around Kate's guarded heart with just his smile. As she begins to fall in love with Vincent, Kate discovers that he's a revenant--an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save the lives of others. Vincent and those like him are bound in a centuries-old war against a group of evil revenants who exist only to murder and betray. Kate soon realizes that if she follows her heart, she may never be safe again.
My Thoughts:  Love love loved this one!!!  I want to start by talking about the setting.  For me, it stole the show.  Paris.  Paris.  Paris.  I've been once before and let me tell you, it felt like you were there.  Plum captured the beauty of the city in a way few authors can truly do.  It was magical even, spooky even.  And then second to only the city was Vincent.  The heroine's love interest.  He was romantic, sexy, dark, but mostly sweet.  The perfect mix.  Through and through a very romantic novel.  Read it for the setting and for Vincent and for the romance.  And then--added bonus--the paranormal feature to this novel was original, well planned, and a nice refreshing twist to the same old hum-dumb you see in most other Young Adult novels!!!  And don´t forget the ending--so action packed--it was perfect!
