Once upon a time there were Vampires, then Werewolves made a quick appearance. After HUNGER GAMES hit it big, Dystopians followed quickly after. Over the summer I noticed a rise in Mermaids. And now, it's Ghosts.
So to name a few...here goes:
AFTER OBSESSION by Carrie Jones and Steven E. Wedel (09/2011)
ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOD by Kendare Blake (08/2011)
THE EVERAFTER by Amy Huntley (09/2009)
IF I STAY by Gayle Forman (?)
HAUNTING VIOLET by Alyxandra Harvey (06/2011)
THE GHOST AND THE GOTH by Stacey Kade (10/2010)
RUINED by Paula Morris (08/2010)
WAKE INTO ME by Lisa Cach (03/2011)
SHATTERED SOULS by Mary Lindsey (12/2011)
HEREAFTER by Tara Hudson (06/2011)
SHADE by Jeri Smith-Ready (05/2010)
ONCE DEAD, TWICE SHY by Kim Harrison (05/2009)
In conclusion, I guess since YA became popular there have always been ghost stories. (Those dates by the titles are release dates, btw.) Although, I do think more recently there has been a surge in the stories.
Did I leave any YA ghost stories out? Let me know.

I'm amused by this. Watching all the things that become the "it" thing, funny.
I didn't even notice this, but now that I'm seeing these titles, it does make sense. I wonder what's next!
